Right to Work with the Critical Skills Visa
You can apply for the Critical Skills Visa without having a job offer. However, you are required to secure employment within 12 months of arriving in South Africa.
- If no job offer is available at the time of application, a 12-month visa will be granted.
- Once you have a South African job offer, you may apply for a longer-term visa.
- If you have a job offer when applying, a 4-year visa can be issued from the outset, which can be extended within South Africa.
Your spouse, children, and other dependents can also apply to accompany you.
Pathway to Permanent Residence
Critical Skills Visa holders can apply for permanent residence. To do so, you will need to provide proof of employment in your field of expertise.
